it is a train smash
a thunderous storm
it is the devil
in its most evil form

it brings tears to your eyes
a drenched pillow at night
it encourages hatred
and is the ideal environment
for your heart to grow with spite

it is a journey
filled with potholes and rocky roads
dead-ends are everywhere
as sorrow grips our hearts

it is the chapters of a novel
one that is filled with pain
it is a roller coaster
which only way is down
it drives you insane

it makes you want to give it all up
or maybe hate yourself
and all that you do
but life portrays a deeper meaning
and should be about
becoming a better you
