Life Is All That Does Matter Poem by Francis Duggan

Life Is All That Does Matter

We read and hear of talented people but in truth one can say
The greatest gift they have they share with everyone living today
They may boast of their talents and their worldly success
But life is the greatest gift they do possess
It is only in life that success seem to count
In cemeteries to nothing it does amount
Life is all that does matter why otherwise pretend
On the day you do die everything for you end
Since death does bring equality in truth one can say
There are no billionaires where dead people lay
No matter what you have achieved or have won
Life is all that does matter when all is said and done
Though my better days are in the forever gone
I too do love life and I want to live on.
