Light Of The Crescent Moon Poem by Rogers Joseph Brown

Light Of The Crescent Moon

Rating: 5.0

I see the world dancing in the light of the crescent moon
Atop the rippled waves of a tropical lagoon
A thousand bits of silver light illuminate the darkest night
And all the mountains turn to sand as they succumb to the oceans hand
I gaze upon the rolling tide
Moonlight swaying side to side
Hypnotic waves seduce my eyes
Erotic visions mesmerize
Illusions emerge from the rolling mist
As the sunrise and the ocean kissed
Colors stream across the sky
So beautiful the heavens cry
The wind is screaming in my ear
Transparent waters crystal clear
Two hearts beat in perfect tune
Lost in the light of the crescent moon.

The crescent moon is such a lovely shape so fragile and transient but when its light illuminates two people whose love puts them in sync we have the best that life can offer. I noticed there was a foreshadowing of their bliss in the sunrise and ocean kissing. I'm sure there is a Greek myth about this. Your poem creates a great vista for the imagination which is breathtaking but at the end it focuses on just two tiny people.

RJ WOW! ! The beauty of every image you've shared. You need not an artists brush to paint and artists picture. Entrancing Rogers.
