Loneliness And Depression Poem by Rebekah Joh

Loneliness And Depression

Rating: 5.0

You have an empty feeling that comes from within
You long to share your feelings but no one will listen
You reach out for open arms, but nobody is there
Your tears fall to the ground, but nobody cares
You pick up the phone, but have no one to call
You feel overwhelmed; your mind is a crawl
You lay in your bed in the light of the moon
Just so you don't see those who aren't there for you
The flames spark inside you and heat up your fear
Your thoughts are suicidal, your days are so drear
Emotional fires burn up in your head
Fires of love and pain and regret
Consumed in your own darkness, you slowly fade away
Your once blue and sunny sky has turned to clouds of gray

Rebekah, I feel that your poem is reflecting my feelings. I also have the same loneliness now but the only difference is that i have never thought of suicide at any point of time. There can be no gain without pain. This loneliness and depression is our stepping stone for our success. Be strong, have patience and faith. Trust God. Your success days are ahead......My best wishes to you. cheers, Raji

I can relate to every line of this poem, more than I care to admit. I have tried suicide, I have locked myself in my room, I have felt isolated, even at the dinner table, and in the cafterias of the insitutions. I still have that empty feeling, even though I am surrounded by family and so-called friends. None of them understand the sadness, depression, loneliness, and isolation that is caused by my ptsd, which was caused by all the abuses I was forced to suffer. Like I said I can relate to this more than I care to admit, and 99% of my poems are about my pain and suffering. Thank you for sharing Rebekah, and hopefully someday, someone somewhere will understand, and be willing to help. Hopefully. But we have a gift Rebekah; we are able to release our sadeness, loneliness, depression, isolation, and cries for help, by writing about our experiences so that others like us will know they are not alone. Even though our circumstances are different, our pains are the same. Like Shaun said, no one knows what the dice will roll next. Take care girlfriend. Stay strong Rebekah, because it is in our strength that we can heal. Love & hugs, Barbara

Very sad: ( I believe everyone gets that feeling like no one is there for them.

Sometimes, it seems, lonliness is unavoidable. But maybe even depression has a purpose. Yes, it's a cliche, but maybe there's some truth in the old saying that sometimes we're our own best friend. Your poem is tender and expresses a lot of emotion and truth.

Never thought one's state for depression could be so well expressed in a poem. I am about to publish a book on depression and would like to use this poem, with your permission, and of course, die credit.

So many people feel this way. Writing how you feel and your personal experiences with depression will really help people.
