Look At Me Poem by Kyrsten Gaddis

Look At Me

When you look at me,
What do you see?
Am I happy?
Am I sad?
Angry?
Excited?
Look again.
I don't believe,
You really care for me.
You put your arm,
Around my waist,
The world then focuses
On me.
Do you think
I like that?
The spotlight,
Is for the vain.
I would rather
Be in the comfort
And surrounding
Of my friends.
Not all alone.
In the spotlight
To be a pretty little pet.
So Look again.
If I'm happy,
Leave me be.
With my friends,
And family.
