Look Inwards. Poem by Radhakrishna Pillai

Look Inwards.

The Achaeans sinned with swords and spears
Then offered meat to Poseidon
And prayed for favours and pardon.
Now You sin with your tongue
And brain, more dreadful!
Poseidon rests on moth eaten
Pages of malodorous books
Stacked away in dark corners
On dusty, cold steel racks.
And so do Mithra, El and Ra, beside Him
No footfalls or the sound of pages turning
Will ever awaken Them from slumber
They are trampled upon; the faith in them
Superimposed by new belief systems

In sync with the sign of the times,
The new systems carry on and survive
The 'Barque of Millions of Years ' is adrift
Will history repeat itself?
Is time ripe for another revelation?
Will the rack of Poseidon be overcrowded?
Fed on a regular diet on the 'truth'
You follow with an irrational mind
Reason blown away by winds of blind faith
Lies scattered under water like mossy stones
You seldom seem to see them there
Unknowingly, you wait for the next truth.

Pray to the Womb, in blissful silence
For you were moulded there in darkness
Remember the wounds on womb you made
When you were so pure and alone, inside
The marks, indelible, remain till It decays
The physical bond when broken
Turns to an emotional one
The bond, enduring and everlasting
As long as you exist, goads you to look inside

When a helping hand extends firmly
Your praying lips falter and shut
Think of the one amongst us,
Mortals, for he is the real one
Think of this world that we see and feel
For our destiny is entwined around it.
See the truth with your own eyes
And feel it with your mind, unconditioned
Interact with and understand your Soul.
Seek the divine Spark within you
Both angels and demons dwell in your mind
Feel the Spark and burn the demons
And live with the kind angels
And feel the 'pathless' Truth and Freedom.
