Lost In Lust Poem by Nweke Emmanuel

Lost In Lust

I thought the drum will cease to beat
Just as Brutus thought of it
When the breeze dry the heat
And my conscience cease to breath

But the dream came again
After (many) sunshine and rain
That act which we thought was gain
Now left us much sorrow and pain

Before you said you were filled
From the thought of the child that was killed
I thought I was the one - unfulfilled
After such act that we willed

When you held me that night
I still remember- the moon was bright
And the shadow from the tree hid the light
Then I thought you were for a fight

The way you moved - and the grip
That - made my heart to leap
Till your lips touched my lips
And I discovered the desire was so deep
It was then I held your hip(s)
And slowly moved across the line
Knowing that your heart called for mine
Oh lust - we drank the wine

After two months I came down the tree
I saw you - waiting for me
That you are pregnant for me
And you have decided that we
That we - that we - will kill
The unborn baby - we should have called LEE
At lust, that was what we said. We-
We will marry and call our first child Lee

But unmarried - Lee, we have killed.
Lee - we lost in lust.
