Love In Pieces! Poem by Barry Van Allen

Love In Pieces!

I once was used to being happy all the time,
- - - then without a warning,
I was alone to find my way...
As time crept in today,
I found some light to show the day.

The leaping flame fades fast,
although the memory of it stays,
Her role grew insignificant,
but, could never be denied.

No matter how they tried,
the lessons could not hide from me,
I endeavored to be impartial,
I fought to hold my tears,
... and as I fought, I always thought,
that the cure would come through years.

Walk me slow and easy, baby,
take my hand and know me,
wake me slow and easy,
to the things that I must see.

Giving hard and good,
the way a young man should,
... is so much better than,
the freedom of not knowing.

Destructive show of strength,
when meekness is in season,
is the cause of lost horizons,
where the things that I must see,
... somehow escape me.

I love you and I want you to be you,
and although I try to lead you, I am led,
we are warm when we are one,
... a sunlight journey, just begun,
I long to hold you every night,
as you are with me in our bed.

There may be shadows of before
inside our heads,
we will eliminate them, for they
are lessons gone,
within the love that we have found,
we share the strength of solid ground,
and share the spoils of the battles,
we have won.

We are an onward going force,
... just released,
... We seem the couple in the light,
of love and peace!
SO, how did it get broken?
