Love Is A Terrible Thing Poem by Samuel Chung

Love Is A Terrible Thing

As we part,
I feel a hole in my heart.
As you waved
I felt like I was saved.

I look into your eyes....
And I see, a gleam.
I sigh
I know that you have just stolen another.

Stolen have you my greatest refuge,
and now I yearn for it back.
But never shall it return to me
you have it in a safe.

I know as I leave,
part of me will stay.
My heart is safe,
safe with you.

You may throw it away,
you may break it to pieces
but forever will you hold my heart
forever I will want to be yours.

Never hath anyone succeeded,
but you.
You have done what none have done,
yet even if you take away my defenses,
nobody can breach the wall.
Nobody
Nobody but you
Never again shall I rebuild my walls to its previous glory
never shall I close the gates of whats left of my refuge,
Till I obtain your heart, or I get mine back
