Love Is Love Poem by Nelson Torres

Love Is Love

Whatever, I won't cry I won't reap,
I just fail to see why my recognition was breached.
Judging is inevitable, that I understand,
But that doesn't give you an excuse to hurt another for loving a man.
See the hate that you spread, preached by yours with the power;
The only thing I noticed from god's love when it was sour.
Acceptance isn't played by the bigger head
So don't worry about what gender is laying on my bed.
Cause this is my life, and no it's not war
I'm just trying to survive, don't care what you live for.
I refuse to buy the lies they feed you in church.
I never saw the love they swore, only the hurt.
One after another, two by twos,
What do you know? Another person's being accused.
Love is love, there's no such thing as evil,
There's only the things that you happen to label.
With perspective in sight, why mines is so different
You say I'm so horrible but nobody's perfect.
Yet you fail to recognize, that's my only problem.
I can see ignorance in your eyes as you chug down your rum.
Don't complain, don't nag, stop to sassy around;
This is my life and the quality of love that I show is profound.
