Love Is Out Of Reach But Not Her Memory Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Love Is Out Of Reach But Not Her Memory

Swept off my feet years ago
By her sexy smile and attitude,
I can never forget what it meant to me
To see her at dawn alive in the sunrise.

Away from her for innumerable seasons,
My heart grows faint but resolute
To always recall her essence
Of independence and perfume.

Those days of her exhilarating presence slip away
Like waves across the ocean
But eventually reach me
When I desperately need a picture of her
To touch my being with wonder.

I’m going to sleep on the roof tonight
And find a star that will lead me to her
To rescue all my dreams from this palpable sadness
That surrounds me like a country fog in the spring morning.
