Life was hectic,
difficult yet stark,
when the light of your
love shown through the dark.
Contentment now mine
in our long embrace
as I gazed lovingly on
your dear face.

A new, sweet song burst
forth from my heart
And I knew such perfection
could be only in part.
For, alas, we are human
with flaws of all kinds
and an unblemished love
could never be mine.

But to love truly 'in spite
of' is the closest ideal;
affection and caring that
is lasting and real.
For a new, sweet song can
carry us through,
and give lasting devotion
for me and for you.

I'll give and sing with you~
this sweet song of love.
We'll know in our hearts,
this melody's from above.
So take my hand, my dear one~
Walking this life with me:
Singing those sweet refrains~
