Lovers' Promise Poem by Paul Sebastian

Lovers' Promise

On my heart’s garden bench we sat
Chuckled, laughed at jokes shared
Competed reciting nursery rhymes
Confessed our love in poetry lines

On my heart’s garden bench we sat
Her arms round waist, head on my chest
Sleep she pretended, as I crooned a song
Shiny shampooed hair, red lips kiss-longed

On my heart’s garden bench we sat
I drank in her looks, enthralled by her scent
Sleep she pretended as I gently rocked her
Lady I’d die for, in my arms, is sleep-pretender

On my heart’s garden bench we sat
Said nothing, on my chest took a rest
She is the reason for my success climb
She’s my ‘everything; ’ she’s who I am

On my heart’s garden bench I sat
Caressing her soft hair, I confessed
‘I will love, cherish you all the days of my life’
‘I promise to honour you, take you as my wife’
On my heart’s garden bench we sat
Lifting her chin tenderly, her lips I kissed
Her eyes opened; kissed her face, all-over
She tugged my head, we kissed like never

Malanni whispered: I’ll love you forever!
Your love, touch of love, I’ll always savour!
Let’s immerse in our love, be lost in each other
Let’s celebrate our love, bond this love, forever!

Malanni, you are my love forever!
