Marathon Ride Poem by Claude Simpson

Marathon Ride

The adventurous riders control
The leap over life-long hurdles;
Soaring to prey like an owl.

Steering from misguidedness;
Steering from destruction;
Navigating to reap success.

Steering to improve a position;
Steering from dips and bumps;
Steering from anxiety and confusion.

Steering on trail, poised on track;
Traversing the rough and narrow path;
Heeding to signs to bypass a stop.

Competing where love and hate reside;
In a distant off-road track
Where hate and division abide.

They will frequently accelerate
With long and gruesome ride;
But will often ride by faith.
