Mask Poem by KunJung Hsiao

Mask

Rating: 5.0

Honey,
I don't want to be your mask,
only use for a short time,
and then be discarded.

Deception is a virus.
It spreads rapidly,
then become pandemic in this world.

You don't want to love
because you are afraid,
so you only covet short-term pleasures.

Your beautiful appearance
hides indifference
and you wear a different mask every day.

Honey,
I am willing to be your mask
Feel the enthusiasm
hidden in your breath,
and keep you from hatred and fear.

My dear,
I would rather be your effective vaccine,
listen to your doubts
and inject love.
help you recognize the ambitious liar and variants,
and soothe your wounded heart.
make sure you are immune for life,
and you will begin to trust others.
