Memories Poem by Elena Goldenberg

Memories

Another memory to stay
Has come without command
I would have loved it to delay
And make a handsome round
But it decided all the same
To wish me best regards
And came, disfigured, bold and lame
To brake my being to shards
It came, unwilling to converse
Nor make it up for good
Like set off straight on its due course
The Time wears a Hood.
