Memories Of The Early Auto Poem by Marilyn Lott

Memories Of The Early Auto

Rating: 5.0

Families would climb into the automobile
On a Sunday afternoon
Take a drive out to the country
Singing a classy tune

Ladies decked out in their finest
A saucy hat perched on their heads
The top rolled back on the auto
And down the road they sped

The roads weren’t the best in those days
But it sure beat the buggy and horse
Hanging on tight and having some fun
Was the making of a brand new course

Drive to a house and honk the horn
And they’d go for a ride in style
Ah yes, family memories were made back then
Memories that made life worthwhile!

Agreed. I can see it all too, what carefree days they were, no rush or bustle, just long enjoyable days. Lovely reminiscience. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
