Memory Lapse Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Memory Lapse

Rating: 5.0

I don't remember
The last time you reached
For my hand when we walked
Side by side...
But now that I think of it
I don't remember the last
Time we walked side by side.
One of us is always a step
Behind or a step ahead.
I simply don't remember
The last time we
Embraced,
Kissed,
Laughed together,
Carressed each other,
Said I love you...
I don't remember lots of things
We did together that made
You my knight in shinning armor
And me so dog gone special to you.
I don't remember
When last we boasted
That we were happy,
I don't remember the last time
You made me want to sing
A happy song,
And I never see you smile
Anymore when I enter a room...
Memory lapses and
To tell you the truth,
I don't think my mind has
Any thing to do with it!

Dorothy you've been peeking at me again. I must admit that I tend to forget that women like those little things. My mind of late always seems to be on other things forgetting what I've got. Thanks for the reminder my friend. David.
