Mend Poem by Nish Deodhar

Mend

Rating: 4.8

Mend the hearts you have to
Drink the wine you must
But know this darling that
Hope binds this tethered trust

When darkness falls and distant waters shimmer
Even distant, seems sunshine's glimmer
The rosy petals, a faint memory
Can't tell then, ebony from ivory

Life will meander in hopeless search
Nothing to find from this broken perch
To fall then the only option
The wait though, burdensome obligation.

Obligated by promises made
Blue skies their fluffy clouds parade
Such charade this human play
Even nature then to this shall sway.
