Merry Christmas Sweetheart Poem by Justin Gildow

Merry Christmas Sweetheart

The room is dark
But the tree's all bright
With the help of the many lights
And we light our candles
And we carry them ever so carefully

It's that time again
So, Merry Christmas sweetheart

We sing ever so gently
We cherish these special times together
The wassail from just a room away smells ever so sweet
And there's a warm feeling in you and me

With the snow lightly coming down
We make our way out on to the roof
Being ever so careful
We stand together
With smiles on our faces
Taking in this beautiful night
And soon, ready to ring in the most beautiful day of the year

Soon after
We get back inside
And back to the tree
The lights are off
But the candles are still lit and are still burning bright

We smile and embrace each other
Thinking back on what's happened to us this year
As we go forward into the new year
I know we'll have nothing to fear

Merry Christmas sweetheart
