Mess Left By Greed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Mess Left By Greed

Privately.
Those who have wealth.
And status must know,
If they had an abundance...
Of common sense, intelligence,
With competence to have this.
As much as obtained possessions.
To boast about where,
They visit to wine and dine.
Exclusively with others,
Also quickly to name drop...
Who among the elite,
Are possessing of same qualities.
The World would reflect,
Their interests invested to show this best.
Yet...
Observation and truth of it to use.
Can be viewed to see and believe,
Those who lack...
Common sense, intelligence and competence,
Maybe capable to afford everything else.
But those qualities,
To have admired and be well known.
They seem unable to buy.
Or borrow to pretend they have it.
With a cleaning up the mess,
Created by greed and selfishness!
