Mid-Day Reflections At Paphos Castle Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

Mid-Day Reflections At Paphos Castle

Slowly, unfurling from layers of preconception,
Sacred souls stand nude at the centre of their being:
In their being—just existentially being;
Being no one, but part of the one—The Oneness.

Before Nature's Magnificence,
Awkwardly at the beginning, embarrassed
To allow themselves in the simple joy of being,
Human-beings shine their rainbow aura
Beneath the bland sun's light of November.

The pace of life gradually slows, embraces, and heals
In the cradle of waves in the gentle breeze,
With multitudes of stars twinkling playfully
Upon the spectacular mirror of the ocean…

Peacefully stationary in moments of completeness;
In calm serenity, hypnotic beauty, and tranquillity,
When human-faces gently radiate their humanity.

Dogmas, concepts, beliefs, are taking flight
From their variable, illusory-formed and framed perception,
Unchaining and liberating the self-made prisoners.

Can we free ourselves from ourselves?
I see Nature smiling at its children,
With the Mother's smile.
