Migration Poem by Dorsey Baker

Migration

Scared and hungry
the children
they suffer
they are at the mercy
of circumstance
played like pawns
in a game of chess
by the ruthless
hands of fate
born into a family
having few
options to choose from
they come and go
their lives
hanging in the balance
migrating like birds
from place to place
