Misery my old friend
You know I miss you when you're gone
We used to hang out all damn day
But now you never stay that long
Bitterness and loneliness
They were friends of mine
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you all the time
Rage tried to take your place
Flooded through my soul
Couldn't hold on very long
Cause it couldn't make me whole
Building up the drama
Deep within my heart
Rage then slipped away
I was fine with the part
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you when you're gone
We used to hang out all damn day
But now you never stay that long
Bitterness and loneliness
They were friends of mine
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you all the time
Joy took a hold of me
But it just was not the same
Too simple, too complacent
It was really quite the shame
Joy has no hold of me
The hypnotic lulliby
I had to fight free
Couldn't lose the will to fly
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you when you're gone
We used to hang out all damn day
But now you never stay that long
Bitterness and loneliness
They were friends of mine
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you all the time
Emptiness tries to consume me
Nothing for me to fear
I hold on to the memories
You left when you were here
The blackness comes surrounds me
But I know I can be strong
Misery my old friend
You still help me to hang on
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you when you're gone
We used to hang out all damn day
But now you never stay that long
Bitterness and loneliness
They were friends of mine
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you all the time
Misery my old friend
You know I miss you when you're gone
We used to hang out all damn day
But now you never stay that long
