Mix Reaction Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Mix Reaction

Rating: 5.0

“Come here fast” the words may be loudly heard
The father may want me to rush with his last word
He was always concerned for my arithmetic
As we were from trader’s community

It was assumed that trader must count on tips of finger
Should offer fastest calculation with offers
If someone is not good enough with fast calculation
He may not be able to maintain his trader’s reputation

Such was feeling with father and he followed vigorously
He will call me and make me to mug up multiples continuously
I sued to get some blows from his hands sometimes
But he was generous at heart and showed love many times

My brother too followed same pattern
He was many years senior even
He will get lesson from school and force on me
To learn along his side for free

It helped me a lot
I was fast at calculation and was never caught
In school too I picked English and maths very quickly
The brother was kind and very friendly

Some of the past incidences evoke mix reactions
Even though the calculators have taken place for action
It was foresight of father that helps me even today
Brother’s zeal too rushes as scene to show the way
