Moon Poem by Danette Frenz

Moon

I come from the moon
with the planets around me.
It's not dark like it seems.
Colorful bright.
I hear comets whizzing by.
Their sparks fly.
Brightening my world.
In the dark
I see their faces glow...
How could you?
Keep me in the dark.
Shadows lurking there.
Who are you?
I think I know you
my bright planet.
But when I get close, you shoot right by.
A star so close yet so far
Mirage in the desert.
You're there but not there.
I don't know what I'm doing here.
But I know I came
from the moon.
