Moon Mate Poem by Priscilla Colon

Moon Mate

The full moon has risen
I can feel it, it's rising
The gift of the moon
I'm drawn to the moon
The fullness of it
It draws me in
The sounds you can hear
I know my moon mate is near
The pact we have made, can never be replaced
Someone else has come along, trying to evade our place
There is now a love triangle full of love and hate
The boundaries are being pushed but it's too late
The full moon has risen
The moon mate no longer realizing
he is fighting for what is his, don't let her go
I plead don't do this our bond is strong
For this to work I have to let you go
The hurt she feels grows inside her
her eyes no longer filled with sadness, but with regret.
I long for you every full moon to be near you
now because of someone else that can never replace our bond, has
you in her arms.
Moon mate when there is a full moon, when you look upon it, you will feel my pain for hundreds of years.
He looked upon his moon mate and couldn't believe she just ripped open the wound he never knew he had until it was too late.
She wouldn't forgive him.
Moon mate broke the pact, the pull that tugged at their hearts has disappeared.
She will no longer reappear to him.
Moon mate it's a full moon again, do you feel her? no.
But I know she is near.
