Moral Ground Poem by Kinyua Karanja

Moral Ground

Contemporary and secular world to be specific
Has lost moral and ethical base at large,
What used to be a serious mortal sin
Turned to be a mare personal preference,
In facts some go ahead to paint it a 'right'
The sense of conscience is long dead
And fear of God is history among many.
The sense of guilt don't exist in their hearts,
People can commit any imaginable sin,
Perpetrate any unforgettable crime,
Take part in any immeasurable atrocity,
Say any blasphemous statement
And no one will care much about it.
It's because we have no moral ground
To gauge and judge our actions upon
As we have rejected Holy Scriptures
Saying that they are mare writings
And we have no obligation to trust them.
We set our own rules and regulations
That we can't even obey at all.

True picture of the present society has been depicted nicely and it will do like a warning bell. Beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.....10
