More Than A Friend Poem by Leslie Alexis

More Than A Friend

My dearest, will you come another day?
This time as lover and not as a friend.
Your visit too quickly came to end,
because forever, you did not stay.
Your leaving saw my heart walking away.
I could not tell the words my heart penned.
It is for kiss my lips and heart commend.
We did not get to dance the lover’s sway.
My dearest, will you come another day?
An arm's length is miles too far.
So where you are is just too much.
My heart thinks you circle another star.
Tonight in sleep I'll dream of your touch.
Unforgettable - that is what you are!
Do love me, my heart has ended its search.
