Morning Man - Poem by howard simon

Delivered from darkness
A great lover of the light
Rising extremely early
working with all my might

Others are still sleeping
While I am wide awake
Maximizing every moment
Energized from spiritual intake

In the day I make progress
Excelling in an excellent way
Following closely my plans
From my priorities never stray

I am a man of the morning
The Son shines in my heart

It's a nice poem. Obviously, a morning man makes more hay than others, while the sun shines.
    Loved these lines:
    'Others are still sleeping
    While I am wide awake
    Maximizing every moment
Energized from spiritual intake'..... (Report) Reply

So true. A morning man is certainly physically n spiritually superior to others. Beautifully presented. (Report) Reply

A lover of nature is always a morning man, how can a lover ignore the beauty of his beloved when she stripes on the beach of inverted blue ocean and dives in it to bring the pearls of aurora for painting her charms on the canvas of the blue sky. (Report) Reply

What a great write, I can see the sunrise and the upbeat mood of the morning light. Nicely written your words flowed so nicely. Without night you would not have the beauty of the morning light. Great write 10+++ (Report) Reply

Shame that not everyone is a 'Morning Man', I'm surely not, you can't beat the ambience of the night...

An excellent poem, nonetheless. (Report) Reply

'the sun shines in my heart' very nice line.
It reminds me kind of like parents, how they wake up early mornings
and work hard while everyone else would be sleeping.

This one sounds like you have morning devotions. It is good to be hard working and to claim Jesus. (Report) Reply
