Mortality

Why do certain seasons depress us so? Is it because the days of winter are so much shorter than those of summer, and consequently, they give less sunlight?
Or perhaps it's simply the coming of the cold: but more likely, though, it's the feelings of sorrow that's deep in our souls where we often fear to go
There are those, however, who say that the differences in the seasons help to determine our moods; but what really affects us the most is when we lose a loved one for its then that we feel truly sad and alone
Strangely enough, though, I sometimes wonder if it isn't downright selfish of us to wish for a loved one to linger on with pain just so we don't have to feel the emotions of change
