Moving On Poem by Monica Money

Moving On

Death

When someone you love or someone you cared about deeply, dies.

It is one of the hardest things in life.

At some point in time

We have to grieve.

'Be Strong' they say.

Hold it in just for them.

But the truth lies underneath.

Don't.

Grief, Pain, Sorrow, and tears.

Is something you have.

That you also should let go.

Be free of the tears, I say.

Let go and be free.

Then the door will close

As they may lay.

Shed the tears.

Let go.

Have closure.

Then be free.

Fly like the wind.

Be a bird

Just know

They will always be in your heart

Also you will never forget them

For they may have brought good into you

Which you never thought you had.

Death

Is hard to get past.

One minute they are there

The next,

The news is spreading.

But grief

That is something we all go through at some point in our lives.

'Be strong' they say again.

Don't as I may say.

It's not healthy.

It's a part of you to grieve.

Not ignore.

Not to be strong.

But to shed the tears.

Catch a flu

Or have a cold.

But shed those tears.

Shed them with care.

They would definitely want you to.

It's hard to care or love someone as deeply but to have to let it go and a short span of time.

It's okay to move on.

It's okay to be afraid.

It's okay to see the light again.

Just know to shed them.

They will always be with you.
