Moving On Poem by Vonda Overlie

Moving On

Pain and betrayal knocked on my door.
Hiding inside I ignored their plea.

Unwelcome guests, they forced their way in.
Holding me, piercing, affecting me.

You think you shot me down forever
Think again.

You were not welcome... I have moved.. with no forwarding address!
I don't live there anymore!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I often think of Madonnas song 'Love don't live here anymore' when I reread this poem after years of heartache and betrayal by those closest to me.

Very cool. Emotional with a sarcastic ending. Very cool.
