Much Too Quiet Poem by Jade Leven

Much Too Quiet

breathing in a room
engulfed in silence
thinking of where I could be

I could be laughing
with someone I know
someone who opens up to me

hoping for a chance
to show my determination
nothing comes that will allow

for me to say
this life is mine to keep
all I have is here and now

time is flying past me
is it real or not?
I may never understand

the ticking of the clock
the empty sounds of living
the shaking of my nervous hands

I hear it all around me
breaths so dry
so shallow and slow

in and out
the pattern repeats
and that is all I know
