Mud Day Poem by Ajit Das

Mud Day

There are so many Days to celebrate:
Mother's Day, Father's Day, Friendship Day.
But have you ever heard of Mud Day?
It's a race challenging obstacles -
climbing mud hills, swinging between ropes,
crawling through icy waters,
driven by a steely tenacity:
adjust, adapt and overcome.

Caked in mud, you get dirty. So what?
You come out in the outdoors
from the virtually sterile environ,
feeling closer to mother earth,
an immense pride to cross the finish line.
