Cruelty And Beatitude Poem by Ajit Das

Cruelty And Beatitude

Rating: 5.0

When they were butchering innocent children
for revenge or using them as human shield,
enacting the most gruesome act of inhumanity,
another scene of a child giving life and light:
a succour to others, was unfolding elsewhere,
revealing beauty, bounty of the human soul.

A toddler was brain dead and ready for funeral.
But his vital organs were harvested and donated.
His cornea will bring light to a pair of blind eyes;
the liver may replace a damaged balancing organ;
kidneys can end some one’s trauma of dialysis.
And his heart may beat in another gasping torso.

Life breathes, defying death; the show prolongs,
carrying burden of grief and humility of charity.

Subscribe to see the full picture, the balance of evil and hope. Not ruled by one or the other. You are talented because of this power of observation, your ability to see the silver lining but not to disregard the clouds. Wonderful perspective. Thanks for sharing........10

An intense frightening issue is dealt in this poem. Killers are ruthlessly killing innocents, but their left out bodies may still help saving life! ! ! Thanks for sharing

Humanity in small pockets seems to be brain dead, otherwise how could they commit such atrocities and cruelty on innocent children! Your comparison, adding the good coming from death in helping others have life is such a contradiction to the evil being perpetrated on these children, women also. Beautifully written on such difficult subject, excellent portrayal within your words. A very clear message send throughout the world! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

It is so sad of butchering innocent children. This is a thought provoking poem shared here. Carrying burden of grief and humility of charity is too amazing and confusing as breath of life defines death. Wonderful work shared. Wise and thought provoking expression.....10
