My Baby Is In Heaven Poem by Holly Jamestone

My Baby Is In Heaven

My Baby is in Heaven
And I know she smiles on me
And though we didn't say goodbye
I hope that she will see

How very much I Love her
And would hug her if I could
And through her angel's guidance
May peace be understood

She'll never see more bad things
That some people must endure
She'll shine and grow and sing with God
Through all his grace, so pure

A parent shouldn't lose a child
No matter what the cause
And though the timing startles me
And forces me to pause

My Baby is in Heaven now
And as I go from here
May happy memories comfort me
Each time I shed a tear

In Respectful Memory of
JonBenét Ramsey
[8/6/90 - 12/25/96]
and
Her beloved mother
Patsy Ramsey
[12/29/56 - 6/24/06]

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
While working behind the scenes in television for 15 years, I captioned the subtitles of newscasts from NY to LA. This story broke my heart, and I wrote about it for catharsis. I was living just 30 minutes from the Ramsey Boulder home at the time, while residing in Denver, CO.
