My Darling Daughter Poem by Jenny MORETTER

My Darling Daughter

When you were born I was happy as can be
It was not dad and I anymore you made us a family
You were such a silly little girl that liked to swing all day
Singing songs to the Little Mermaid in your own special way
I remember you standing in your crib holding your doll
Trying so hard to climb out hoping you would not fall
I took so many pictures of you so I would not forget
How little you looked in your cute little dress
You are now getting older and the days fly by so fast
And the memories of when you were little are now the past
You are so incredibly beautiful inside and out
Even when you stand there and sometimes pout
You can make me laugh so hard and sometimes want to cry
I am sure you have often wondered why
When you are a mother you want so much for your kids to know
How much it sometimes pains you to see them grow
For that baby you were once able to hold all day
Is now older and wants to just go and play
From the cute little dresses and tiny pig tails
You now wear jeans and like to paint your nails
I look forward to your future and hope all your dreams come true
Never forget you will always have a mother that truly has loved you.
