Some say love is pure and true
I say it is falling for someone who should never hurt you
Some say love is standing by your side
I say it is not sitting in silence for a long car ride
Some say love is never having to worry
I say it is making a mistake and just saying sorry
Some say love is holding hands while walking down the street
I say it is looking at someone and knowing my life feels complete
Some say love is being there through the ups and downs
I say it is knowing after a long fight someone will always come around
Some say love is to forgive and forget
I say it is caring enough to have some regret
Some say love is having intimacy and passion
I say it is first learning to have some compassion
Some say love is sharing your thoughts and dreams
I say it is when your partner knows what it all means
Some say love is being there when you are sick at home
I say it is when you have a partner that would never leave you alone
Some say love is walking down the isle and saying “I do”
I say it is when I can ask and you can answer “What does our love mean to you? ”
