My Girl Is Gone - Poem by Dorsey Baker

The wind is howling, the thunder is roaring,
my girl is gone
and I can't stop my bitter tears from flowing-
my girl is gone
my girl is gone
my girl is gone

wish I knew where she might be
wish she'd come back
home to me
my girl is gone
my girl is gone
my girl is gone

the world is so lonely
and the sky is so black,
think I'm gonna
die of loneliness
if my baby don't hurry up
and come on back
