My Grandma Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

My Grandma

Rating: 4.0

Every day as we go to sleep
My mother would throw me
Into your lap

And with my small feet
I ticked you at the waist
And we laughed
Our toothless laugh

Your bony hands
Caressed my head as sleep
Came to my small eyes

I liked to wake up
In my dreams to be
Cuddled and kissed

But you let me swim in
The sweet flow of a lullaby
And I slept feeling the Heaven
In your lap

Good poem. Grandmas are a blessing.

'And we laughed Our toothless laugh' - so beautifully said! I remembered my own grandma while I was reading your poem, although at that time I was not as small as you were, in this poem. Grandma-grandson relationship is one of indulgence, one of love running through the blood veins. I felt very warm as I read your poem.

The love and lap of grandmother is immeasurable and unforgettable. You have got the love and lap of your grandmother. A nice poem is well executed.
