'You're my princess, beta', papa said
without batting an eye Iid
And my spirits soar high seeing
The love that erupted for my being
He's my perfect papa, for sure!
I am the crown of his head
I am his life, as I said
He knows I do no wrong
For I am his daughter, strong.
He's my perfect papa, for sure!
As I grew older, the castle started to crumble
The perfect sky grew flawed, thoughts jumbled
People were grey, mean and bad
But I stood tall cz of my dad
He's my perfect papa, for sure!
One day changed the meaning of my being
Among this grey, I found my green
I felt happy, content and myself with him
Why did everyone say, 'it was a sin'
His love was different but pure!
I knew no one else but papa would see
That I am doing no wrong in loving thee
He's the wind beneath my wings
I knew, He will set us free
He's my perfect papa, for sure!
But my soul died when I saw
My papa so full of hatred and raw
Madness in eyes thirsting blood
And there go my lover on floor with a thud
He's my perfect papa, no more!

A nice narrative poem on one of the major challenges facing some lovers. A serious situation where one is force to sympathize with father's sentiment or go against it. Daddy's little girl has grown. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read and rate my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
