My Love For You

It's not that I never heard the rules
“Never take anything that does not belong to you'
You belonged to a certain woman I never saw and I never knew

It is not that we never tried to stop it, remember?
A few times we did
We once made an MoU
Not to see each other
But the idea even made our longing to meet grow stronger and stronger
I thought you put a spell on me and you said I put a spell on you
As we could not resist the charms
And the MoU was broken then

I failed to escape from you
I could not avoid seeing only your face in my mind
I could not fight my wishing to be always near you
Talking about whatever and doing whatsoever together
I could not manage to kill my feeling towards you
It's not that you were the only man
There were a lot … standing in a line wishing to have me

I did not choose you
It just happened
I simply could not ignore my joys
Of being with you
Does it show that I was weak?
Maybe
I just could not control my feelings towards you perfectly
I was not able to calculate the benefits and the disadvantages I would get
By allowing the feeling to flow like it was
To let it be
Was like a surrender
A willingness to become a fool, to a certain extent, I think
And for a certain case
Sometimes

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
She came from very far
