My Penultimate Poem Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

I will not reach for paper,
Nor will I reach for pad,
As this is my penultimate poem,
Please do not be so sad.

Since the Year 2000 I’ve written,
Poetry in Rhyme and Scan,
Day and Night the words have come,
Till my 500th will be ‘In the Can’.

I open my Mind for HIS Words,
Will HE give me seven verses more?
Until my 500th is written,
And then ~ I can rest, for sure.

I did not set a Target,
Of 500 Poems to write,
The words they just came to me,
At all hours, both Day and Night.

What will be the Subject,
Of my 500th Poem ~ I ask?
Will it be of Substance?
Of HIM ~ Dare I ask?
