My Prayers For A Nation Poem by hajara abdul khader

My Prayers For A Nation

Rating: 0.5

Sorrow hit you like the waves
That came rushing all the way
Into the calmest domains of your heart.
It took with you your dreams
And the future of a peaceful nation.
How I feel to even imagine
The wipe out of a homeland
That stood with a pride
So magnificent like an emperor?
How it pains to think
A prominent portion of this world
Has been torn apart by
The outrageous Mother Nature
In almost a single swipe?
My mind wanders with you
And so is my heart.
May you rise above your misery
And reawaken to your former self.
May the prayers of billions
Flower with a promise
That could recuperate a nation.
