My Promise Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

My Promise

I defy destiny
And I will laugh at Fate
For your Love had met me
Though it came rather late.

Time is just a word
And Distance is just space
In bonds we have a cord
That ties our hearts in place.

And should it happen, dear
That my breath be cut at last
My spirit will be near
With you forever, if it must.
