My Routine Poem by Jessica Elizondo

My Routine

More of those thoughts enter
my mind, as I stare straight ahead,
sinking into my seat. The teacher
asks a question, I don't hear it,
my blank stare says it all.
Imagining if things were different,
Oh how great that looks in my
head. Now all I need to do is
push myself, I thought I was but
Not hard enough it seems. Blaming
myself each time I fall, it's got to stop
but it's a routine, and it's driving
me insane. I hate those thoughts,
I hate how I let myself slip. Praying,
wishing, determind to change.
Somethings pushing me back, but I
still fight..every night I fight it off, but by
morning it all wears out and appears
again....routine........my routine.
