My Time Poem by Holly Jamestone

There was a time when I thought
I was only complete when in the company of another

There was a time when I strived
To always meet the expectations of others

There was a time when all I knew
Was that which was spoon-fed to me by nuns

There was a time when the sun came out
And I realized I had come into my own

There was a time when I knew that it was okay
To have immeasurable self-love and then, only then

There was a time for togetherness
And a lifetime of joy and everlasting love
