My true love, my best friend

There is something that you should know,
My love for you will only grow.
I know life has made you fear,
But know I will always be here.

You are my love, the keeper of my heart.
I have searched and loved you right from the start.
The day we did meet, in God’s precious land,
I said we would marry, I asked for your hand.

You thought I was foolish, just talking out loud.
You liked that my passion, was you that I found.
You remembered our life, from once far away.
You knew that our love, is here to stay.

Trouble stepped in, and new fear came around,
Steep into my arms now, safety is found.
I am here now remember, it is I that you love,
It is our love remember, that was conceived up above.

Talk my hand now and know I won’t sway.
Feel my hearts love, know it’s here to stay.
Grab hold of me now, my love I do send.
You are my true love, you are my best friend.

Your life do not fear, you’re strong as a drake.
I know what it feels like, there is plenty at stake.
But remember this one thing, whatever you do.
You’re my friend and I love you, I am here for you too.

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
