My Wake Up Poem by Buddy Bee Anthony

My Wake Up

Rating: 5.0

Byatch,
better have my wake up.
Because, my lips are chatterin'
and these junkie shakes.
puts me out of time
at the daily grind,
Dialed in direct
on skiddley pow row.
at this watering hole.
Another free freak show.
At the expense of
getting pissed,
from rain and
and anxious sweat
from crouching down low
My mind drifts off
in my leaky
pup tent,
next to the now bone dry,
municipally owned
water spigot.
Seeking the promise of warmth
and sanctuary,
Like a forgotten movie set,
lit up for camera surveillance
more than our safety.
Too exausted,
in, my dead man's
Slumber
ticked in as indigenous,
The night is windy, rainy and bone chilling cold.
A never ending,
strobe light of cars and trucks
zoom by like water torture
A madness sets in without
the healing balm of my
dog companion.
but now,
I can't find him.
Dog brother, Who has been my
truest and most faithful companion.
The only face I know
who really needs me.

What kind of who ho
would run off with him.
Furry friend
fast find your way home
Your soul brother beckons
It's time to put and end
to this nightmarish parade.

Maybe last night,
when big dog fell fast asleep
they fed him
and being so friendly,
he squealed and squeaked,
Did they fear I was starving him.
Did they suspect
I had abused or mistreated him
Or abandoned him
To stray out on his own.
We've relied on each other
on these turbulent streets,
our only home,
I won't sleep until I find him
or he finds me..
Jeepers creepers,
there sure are alot of tweakers
Slinkin' around
for acquisitions
they don't need.
To walk off with my faithful, long time
canine, running, companion.
Like they were snatching up
some cheap, girly magazine.
Whatever went down last night
happened under cover of night.
Now, it's a bleak, black and blue morning.
my eyes are blurry and burn from the light
I won't rest easy
until my four legged soul brother
makes his way back to me
So, Byatch,
better have my wake up.
